Dometic not cooling

Okay guys I'm tired of troubleshooting this fridge and could use some help. My fridge type runs on both propane and electric and won't cool continuously on neither power source. I've had cooling issues on and off for the last month but would finally come down to temp and maintain 38 to 42...then again will go back up to 60's. I discovered the slider laying on the shelve last night and installed it back on the last fin to the highest (coldest) setting but as of 24 hours later still in the 60's. I realize it takes time to bounce back to proper temp but is there something I'm missing? The freezer seems fine and maintains ice cubes in a frozen state. Thank god I have my outside fridge to keep things fresh. Btw my TT is level. Any help would be appreciated.

Unplug the thermistor and see if it cools then. If so, replace the thermistor. How old is the fridge. There are many videos on youtube.

Dometic not cooling

Yes, I watched all of those videos last night, all very informative. The fridge is original to my 2011 Puma. I ended up adjusting the thermistor probe to the top of the clip and set the clip at about 2/3s the distance from the bottom of the far right fin to top. This morning she's back down in the lower 40's. Going to keep watching her throughout the day to see if she continues to recover. Hopefully this yo yo temp will stabilize. Thanks for the help.Click image for larger version

Well it's back up in the fifties again. Tried to buy a new thermistor but can't find an open RV supply center.

I've gone ahead and disconnected the thermistor at its plug in point on the circuit board behind the Fridge unit. My understanding is the system should cool at 100% and if the cooling system is functioning should get well below normal operating temperature. Anyone see a problem with this method of testing the thermistor?

That is the easiest way of testing the thermistor.

Dometic not cooling

Well the unit suddenly started to work this weekend. Fridge temps all day in the lower thirties/upper twenties and freezer temps are in the single digits. Not sure if it's due to the less humid weather over the weekend, which was not much of a change from normal conditions in southern Texas or perhaps some blockage in the tubes that resolved. Anyhow I'm watching her closely and plan on installing the thermistor Turbs mentioned above just as soon as it arrives. Thanks for all the help.

Dometic not cooling

Ok got home last night and temp was back in the 60's. I shut her down and installed the new snip the tip thermistor and turned it back on. Almost immediately temp started to drop. By bedtime it was in the 40's and this morning it was at 30. I hope this resolves my issue. Will report back tonight.Click image for larger version

That's great news. The pics of the thermometer are great! That's proof positive that it fixed it. It will surely help someone in the future.
