Dometic Refrigerator
I have the double door Domectic refrigerator and it makes a lot of noise when operating. The refrigerator has been operating for a week after I took delivery of the Toyhauler which is a new 2013. It cools to the set temperature but is noisy. Anybody experience any noise coming from their Domectic refrigerator?

The only noisy should be coming from cooling fans in the back of the unit. The fans are the same type used in computers.

Replace there junk cheap fans with high quality ball bearing fans of equal size and you'll be fine.
I understand that it may be under warranty but there just going to stick the same fan in.

I heard that Dometic would provide quieter fans if asked.

Dometic Fridge problems
We have had a couple of failures above the noisy fan which I am told is normal? Our service location had to run a separate electrical supply with an inline fuse as Forest River had the fridge on a line with other electrical components. This was done after a lower circuit board shorted out before the fuse on the circuit board blew. There was a black burnt spot on the board just in front of the fuse. (hopefully that was not a potential fire). Second failure was my own fault but a word to the wise here - If your trailer battery goes completely dead, the propane side of the fridge will not work and the system will need to be reset.

Referring to the battery going completely dead requiring the propane side of the fridge having to be reset... Would this also occur if you remove the battery for winter storage and or maintenance?

I am currently dealing with the Dometic fan noise problem. Mine is on a slide out. I spoke to Dometic on Friday about it. They will sell me one for $99.00 but will not send me one on warranty. They will only send it to a dealer to be installed which they are going to do. I will try this once and if I get another noisy fan then I will do the computer fan install myself as suggested by other posters. This one is made in ......guess where.....China. Ah, the joys of warranty claims.

That's what they told me. They would sell me a fan for $99.00 if I wanted to buy it and install it myself.

You can buy 10 fans for that on the cheap end.
I put two fan externally and one in the fridge internally and spent $25.00 .

That's my point. Outrageous, isn't it? Can you tell me where you purchased your fans? I may have to do that also.

turbo was there a piece of wood or paneling in the same place where you have mounted your fans? I looked at mine to see about doing your mode but there was a board blocking the opening. I did mount some fans to the cover that would blow air upwards. The fans I mounted are to be laid on top of stereo components to extract the heat, so far not a noticeable difference.
Thanks HC

Yes that board was already there it comes out with two or three screws that are hard to see.
I believe it to be 1/8" luan or plywood.
Let me know if I can be of more assistance.

turbo thanks. I will review your post and see if I can go from there. Right now I will look for the wiring to the board for power. The 2 fans I have tried has not kept the temp below 40 during the day with the thermistor at the top of the fin. So I am hoping the larger volume fans will help (2 fans at 17 cfm ain't much).

Fridge reset

The reset only happens when the fridge is requesting electricity from the battery and the battery is dead. If you manually turn off the fridge then I have not had the issue.

New issue with the fridge
Looks like the electric side of the fridge is operating sporadically. No problem if we stay on propane side. Anyone else seeing this issue. 2013 Columbus Palomino 365RL.

For really great very long lasting fans look for Sanyo Denki or Nidec fans. A little more money but more air flow at a 30-32 db rating which is very quite.
