Dometic Refrigerator Failure

Plugged in the trailer yesterday to get ready for the weekend trip. When I went to load the fridge this morning, it hadn't cooled. Even though the auto with electric preferred switch was selected, I could hear the gas trying to ignite. I pulled the electric plug, switched it over to gas and heard the unit ignite, but the condenser hasn't kicked on.

Has anyone had any experience with this problem. As always, thanks for your insight.

There isn't a compressor, or anything in this fridge that resembles a home unit. In other words, no moving parts except the door. It may take the fridge 24 hours to cool. Keep checking, but not too often.

As for the "auto" switch being in electric mode, are you sure you have power on the trailer.? Did you test any other plugs? Will the Microwave work?

Our motorhome has a gas detector switch near the door that must be on in order for the gas to flow. Even when it is in the on position the gas doesn't flow it has to be toggled on a off a few times to get things going. The auto function usually overrides it but it does take hours to cool down. I usually turn things on and then check the freezer after an hour or so if it is still warm things aren't working and I can go through my procedures. We keep a cooler ready as a back up although it isn't as good for frozen stuff. Good luck Bob
