Dometic refrigerator only working on propane. Please help!

Showed up at my camper today to find my propane tank empty and my Dometic fridge RM 3962 displaying flashing LP along with 60 degrees. Changed tanks and now both the auto light and the LP light are lit still showing 60 degrees. . I believe the display should only have the auto light lit and not the LP light. . So I went ahead and turned off the LP , and once again the LP light is flashing. Can't seem to get it to run on electric. . Checked the fuse box and not showing any red lights. . What else can I do or check Click image for larger version

Also , I removed the panel on the outside of camper to access electrical outlet that the fridge is plugged into. Disconnected the fridge and tested the outlet. The outlet is fine. When. Fridge was disconnected from power the display on fridge did not change

are you saying the display is reading when the fridge is unplugged from main source? if so then it appears the controls are powered elsewhere.

what happens when you turn off the fridge at the display with the on/off button? with or without unplugging the fridge at outside plug?

i would also say consider turning off the battery supply switch if you have one.

Controls are 12v DC so that is possibly why? There are fuses for the low voltage under the black plastic cover in back where you unplugged it if similar to mine.

Do you think one of the fuses in the back need to be replaced?

When unplugging the power chord from the fridge the front display is still on. Maybe it's then running on battery?. I am now gonna try turning off the battery switch. When I turn off the fridge at the display it does power completely off. . The fuses in little black box in rear look good

If the frig was left on with gas and the auto button set to gas then you need to go back and turn off frig then restart in auto and let it switch to gas. sounds to me when the gas ran out you did not give the new tank time to get the gas to the frig. Did you purge air out of the line and did you light the stove a couple of times to see if gas is flowing to it. Usually I have to do this when the gas has been depleted from the lines over a period of time. Later RJD

First of all a disclaimer: We haven't had a RV fridge for a few years, thus my memory is a bit cloudy.
-If you got the fridge back up and running on propane then leave it, it usually cools better on propane than on 120 Volt AC.
-2 x 30# propane bottles should last for several months if nothing else uses propane in the RV
-There should be a selector switch, on/off switch, try to push and hold it for a few seconds to change from AC to propane and vise versa.
-If you have completely run out of propane you should purge the line by lighting the stove and let it burn for a minute or 2 before re/starting the fridge and the hot water tank for that matter.
-If starting the fridge on propane fails on the 1st attempt wait a couple minutes before you try again.
-Last but not least, here is a link to Dometic user manuals, you have to enter the right model # for your fridge

Your refrigerator should last a couple of weeks or longer on two propane tanks.

I recommend turning the refrigerator off at the panel, disconnecting the negative battery lead to ensure no DC power to your refrigerator and disconnect the AC power for good measure. After 30 seconds, restore the AC, reconnect to the battery and turn on refrigerator's power back on at the panel. If the problem persists, then perhaps a service call is needed.

Fuse

You said you pulled the fuses out and they look good. I would put a ohm meter on both of them to check continuity and make sure they are really good. The glass one in mine looked good util tested. I replaced it and that resolved the issue. There is a 12v 15 amp fuse in the fuse box control panel check to see if it is blown. You can put a volt meter on the red and black leads in that covered area and check the 12v. Hope that helps.

I'm guessing your electric heating element is bad thus not allowing the fridge to cool.

My 2017 sunseeker 3050s had this problem. Drove from dealer 200 miles from with fridge working on lp. Sar in driveway plugged in to electric for 6 weeks. Started packing for trip, no lp.
Bad control board in 4 door fridge. Dealer had to remove fridge from new unit on lot, replace defective board in mine and then get a new board from manufacturer.
Been about 6 months now and all is good.
