Dometic RM 1350 Doors Hard To Open

We took delivery on a Columbus 320RS on the 4th and are experiencing hard to open refrigerator doors on the Dometic RM 1350. The plastic latches catch so hard that they pop when you finally get them to release. We called Dometic and their answer was that is the way they are supposed to operate and that there are not any adjustments. Has anyone experienced this problem and found a fix?

On a previous thread a person had a door so bad he couldn't even open the door unless he used a butter knife to pry it. I suggested he check the little grey tab that the door latch catches on in the door frame, that it may not be in all the way and if so tap it in with a rubber hammer or something similar, he did and sure enough it solved his problem. You may want to look at it from this approach as well.

Congrats on the Columbus and happy camping, Enjoy.
