Dometic Thermostat

The blower fan won't turn off and the igniter keeps clicking and won't light my furnace. The green light that used to be on is no longer lit on the thermostat (see attachment). Does anyone have one of these thermostats? Could it be a bad thermostat? The coach is only two years old. Thanks.

What have you checked or tested?

Do you have propane?
Is it turned on at the tank?
Have you checked for blown fuses?

Batteries and propane are fine. I disconnected and reconnected the wires. The green light came on for a few seconds then went off. No display in the window. The large silver thing at the top (resistor?) is hot.

I would go with what ejohnson1144 said about a bad thermostat.

The round silver thing is a capacitor, if it is hot then it has an internal short. Given enough time it will start leaking at the cross etched on the top, sometimes they will explode with a bang like a gunshot.

Several years ago there was batch of capacitors that had the formula of the paste inside messed up and installed in desktop computers. I happened to have had one of those motherboards, 5 capacitors leaked, 1 exploded loud enough the next door neighbor heard it.

Bad Thermostat

Thanks everyone. These thermostats are hard to find. Is there another brand or model that controls the three functions, or am I stuck with this model?

Coleman-Mach is another brand. You have to be sure it has the right functions. Your rv parts dealer should have a catalog. They are usually listed under appliances in the catalog.

I have the one linked above. It has a nice blue backlighting when pressed that goes off after 10 seconds or so after last touched. Very useful for night when others are sleeping.

Edit: Grrrr, I swear it was not sideways when I hit submit....
