I'm having a sudden problem with the Dometic thermostat (http://www.amazon.com/Dometic-331319.../dp/B00C9OEZK6) I have in my sig trailer. I noticed the first time we went camping this season, that something wasn't right. This last trip, I had to deal with a cold trailer at 3am, multiple times.
Basically, I turn the thermostat to heat, it always turns on, everything works great. However, after an undetermined amount of time, it suddenly stops heating. You can turn up the temperature, and it won't ever start. The solution is to turn the thermostat to off, and WAIT until the green light on it turns off. After that, set it back to heat, and it starts right up.
Strange issue. I haven't taken it apart, but I'm guessing I can't replace that with just any thermostat, or even any other Dometic thermostat, right? I'm also guessing this has a control box at the furnace (built in?), meaning I have no clue if it's the control box or the control panel itself.
Had the same sort of problem with my Roo 19, although I had the crappy Suburban bimetallic T-stat. I replaced it with a Honeywell RTH111 home T-stat and never had a problem again.
First mod on my new Mini Lite was to replace the Coleman Mach analog T-stat with a Honeywell.
Seems unusual that your digital would act up, but my advice is replace it. The Honeywell will give you fan control, also. Doesn't look like you've got a 2 speed fan, but if you do, you can add a small single pole double throw switch to change the fan speed. See pics and wiring diagram.

Awesome, thanks. I'm hoping it's not the 3 wire version with the control box at the furnace, but I have a feeling that's the case. It would be a PITA to move the thermostat, though probably worth it.
Does not take much to run the battery down when heat is on. Later RJD
Brand new battery. Always charged during the day. We've been able to make it near 3 nights without recharging, without any issues, in the past. If it were battery issues, I wouldn't be able to turn the furnace on at all, after the reset of the thermostat.
And now that I think about it, it DEFINTELY does it on shore power, because the place we went camping the first time this year, was full hook-ups.
Hmm...are you running one battery or two? Why did you replace the battery?
Just asking questions trying to troubleshoot.
We had a similar incident where DW set the heat too high so the furnace was running a lot! Killed both batteries in the early morning hours. Heater fan would kick on but wouldn't light. Then would turn off and not turn back on until thermostat was cycled. Now, if battery was extremely low it could still do it while on shore power if charger had not had enough time to recharge being heater runs off 12v.

Just one. I shouldn't have left the battery in the trailer over the winter. We got out on our first night, and it was absolutely shot. Had to run off truck batteries for the first night and make a special trip into town to get a new battery.
I definitely know it's not battery related because it did it on shore power a couple months ago.
