dometic toilet problem

I've searched for for this problem, with no success.

I have a 2013 rockwood. We've had it out twice. When you first activate the flush pedal the water sprays so hard it shoots out over the rim. Once the peddle is down farther, it stops spraying over. At first I thought my water regulator was allowing too much pressure, so I unhooked and used the on-board pump. still the same problem.

I've seen posts about leaks and installation, but have found nothing like this. Any ideas

Thank you,
Keith

It sounds like there maybe some manufacturing debris partially clogging some of the holes. Try using a piece of a clothes hanger to dislodge any debris in the hole that sprays.

Sorry, I don’t have a fix for you. I have the same problem. I believe Dometic calls this model their powerflush, swirl-jet bowl. We have an all-in-one bathroom so before I flush I turn on a water faucet at the wash basin to reduce the water pressure and then flush. I’m glad you brought this issue up because it reminded me to have the service personnel at the FROG rally look at this.

Repairing a Thetford Aqua Magic V

This is how I repaired my Thetford for a low/no flow flush problem and it will give you an idea of how the valve works.

It does sound like an overpressure problem since once the valve opens the pressure drops to a proper amount.

Dometic Toilet Problem

I have had contact with Dometic and they say to bend down the "ears" on the valve that is at the back of the toilet. I am attaching a .pdf that shows how to fix this with pliers. We will try this next weekend. Good luck.

I wish the solution for my Dometic model 310 toilet was that simple. I guess I'll quit procrastinating and send Dometic an email about the problem.

They are really easy to get ahold of by phone. No extended phone tree or anything like that.

I had a Dometic 310 and the big valve quit closing all the way and it was clean.
Called them and told them the problem and gave them model and serial number and they sent me a new complete toilet. I installed it myself in a few minutes.
You need to call them

I was hoping for an easy fix. If it's toilet replacement I might not do that. The water shooting over the rim is inconvenient but also inconsistent. I will be calling Dometic today to see what they tell me. If they send a new toilet maybe I'll just bring it to Goshen and see if I can get FR to install it.

BTW, thanks for the heads up about calling instead of sending an email.
