Dominguez Refrigerator issue

On our second trip out with our new 3029 windjammer the freezer worked fine but the refrigerator would not cool. The trailer was level and I tried it on both propane and electric with no change. I was plugged into 50amp. And had good power to it and the 12v was at full power too.

I let it run for about 24 hours and it started working. Any thoughts on why the delay in cooling?

It's probably a dometic not a dominguez??
It's always a good idea to turn on the fridge 1 day before you plan to use it.

If you are referring to the Dometic fridge, it takes a while to cool. Start it the day before you leave and allow to cool overnight, Then put only ( or at least mostly) cold food in it and you will be fine. Replace drinks as used rather than all at once as it takes much longer for this type of fridge to cool food and drinks.

The fridge and freezer is all one unit, therefore if the freezer is working so is the fridge.

A fridge works by removing heat energy from the contents. RV fridges are nowhere near as efficient as your home fridge so extra care is needed. Cold air has very little ability to absorb heat energy so an empty fridge will heat up quickly if warm items are added. A fridge full of cold items will be most efficient. Once the fridge is cold add cold items and it will stay cold. If you need to add warm items, add them over a period of time to allow fridge to catch up. Adding a small internal fan to circulate air helps. RV fridges work very well if used properly.

Elsewhere I posted a few tricks we have used with success. Spousal unit modified ducting to improve air flow and added 3 - 120mm computer fans to force air over the coils. Cools down in 4 hours instead of 24. I also got a small fan to place inside reefer to improve air flow, freezer maintains 0* and reefer 37*

This might help Ford has video from 1 to 20 you can learn a lot
I did everything to my Fridge and in 8 hours it's around 40 Deg. In fridge
12 hours it's down to 32 deg. I also put a fan on the outside under the coils blowing up
And a fan on the inside circulating and changed the thermistor on side with a snip the tip
Model.
