DVD Player in 378

Got a Georgetown 2012 378.Trying to watch dvds on my Toshiba tv and a RCA dvd player. Have not been able get the right combination to turn on the movie got sound but no picture.

I had a similar problem with sending my signal to the bedroom tv. I had a picture, but no sound. Checked in back of all the units, and discovered that the sound wire was slightly pulled out of the unit so as to not make complete contact. Pushed it in, and all is well. Just check all your connections. It has to be something like that, otherwise you wouldn't be getting anything.

Assume the set is tuned to receive video 1 or whatever the RCA is connected to. Otherwise is the DVD clean? Noticed our DVD is all messed up with fingerprints on the disc.
