Question Electric water heater trips GFI

Having a problem with electrical. Cannot plug into a pedestal that contains a GFI plug. It pops the gfi circuit immediately. Have narrowed it down to water heater using breakers in trailer. Can leave breaker off and heater will work on propane but wondering where to start solving the electrical problem.

You say your tripping a GFCI on the post? Are you plugging into a 20 amp circuit? You could be over your load once the water heater kicks in. Then again you may have a bad or grounded element or control board on the WH.
