Factory In Vehicle Hot Spots

Go to thinking that with a lot of the newer tow vehicles being equipped with wifi/cellular hot spots, that might be a good alternative to buying a separate device/plan for the RV, just use the trucks...

I guess one downside is you'd have to keep the truck ignition in the accessory mode so there is power going to it.... The other is it does not overcome the limitations of the price/plans so it could be costly if you are using it to stream or you get throttled...

Anyone using their in vehicle wifi/cellular hot spot in their RV and if so what's your experience been?

I think these integrated or plug-in vehicle hot spots also time out after 5 minutes of 'non travel movement' of the vehicle, which is why some adapters are available for some of these units that has a built-in protocol that makes the device think that the vehicle is in motion, constantly.
