Fire rings?

Every campground I've stayed at this month on my trip has had one of these. I actually would like to buy one to replace the firepit in my back yard. Dos anyone know where I could start looking for one? I figure they most be pretty easy to come by.

Get a semi truck rim. Cut the mounting pad with a torch if you want and you are good to go.

Go to a semi-truck dealer/repair facility, junk yard or scrap metal recycling center. All three will have used tire rims you can buy. I retired from a scrap metal recycling yard and got several for friends in the past.

As mentioned, check out scrap metal yard for 'split rims' off of semi trucks. Don't mess with the locking portion of the rim, you don't need it for anything.

Turn the rim with the lip up, might want to raise it off the ground just a bit for air, works great ~ I have one now.

BTW ~ a Weber 22" grate fits right inside the lip if you want to use it for that also. You can get new grills from Walmart.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll be on the lookout when I get back home.

Garbage trucks change out bent rims regularly, from hitting curbs, etc. If you have a trash company nearby, they sell the bent rims for as little as $10 each. Buy more than one, as a neighbor or friend will want one too.
