There seem to me that there was a thread to this problem with certain units and the trim work was blocking the intake air and overheating and shutting down. This might be your problem but When I turn my microwave on with the fireplace it will not shut down. If I turn my rheostat all the way up it will stay on til I shut it off. If you have EMS turn on your microwave and fireplace and it will tell you how many amps you are pulling with both on but also remember your convertor amps will also show on the A/C side. Very easy check of you 110 volt amp draw. I doubt if to many people are plugged in right now. I have a 30 amp system I will test that with my amp probe, just convertor, Mico and fireplace on and give you the results. Stayed tuned for the rest of the story. Someone, I forgot who, answered me that and I fell out of my chair laughing.

Okay here is the rest of the story. My test was used with a Fluke meter amp jaws. Had the Mico on high and the fireplace on high with the convertor on. The total 110 volt amps being drawn was 16.9 amps. and nothing shut off. I would be looking at something else causing the problem....Good luck..

When you open the bottom cover where the controls are located does the cover go 90 degrees or is it lifted up some. I have to remove some of the carpet from under the fireplace and place 1/4 boards under the legs. This lifted the fireplace up which allowed more airflow from the bottom and have not had the issue again. The airflow comes from the bottom and must have a 1/4 inch gap at min.
