Fireplace wont keep me warm and cozy

I have a 2015 Flagstaff 27rls with a 23" chinese fireplace in it. I never really used it till this weekend. Seems to work fine on low 750w but when the DW gets cold and turns it up to High 1500w it runs for 1 minute and shuts off. I suspect it is due to a high temp limiter. have to turn it off for 5 minutes to get it back going again as long as we keep it on low. Anyone else have an issue with theirs and is there any fix or something to look at to fix
Thanks

Air flow? High limit switches can fail, but do you have a high air flow to along with the 1500 watt setting?

the fan stays at the same speed when I switch from low to high heat . Not sure if there is an issue and the fan is suppose to go to high or not . the pamphlet that came with the trailer does not say it has 2 speeds, but then again it doesn't say the manufacturer name either.

Forget the dealer, time to call FR directly and ask them. They have always been happy to answer my questions.

My fireplace needs to run for 20-30 minutes on low prior to clicking it to high. If I follow this procedure it will run just fine on HIGH for as long as I wish. Not sure why it operates like this, I just figured it is what it is!

X2 It has been chilly this weekend and we have just heated the coach with the floors.

It was particularly cosd this morning so I turned on the fireplace, closed the door to the front and when I opened it up 10 min later it was probably 75° in the front of the coach!

Those electric fireplaces work great (when they work, in your case ) When we had our 5th wheel, we could leave the fireplace on and keep the whole unit comfortable warm on nights that it got into the 30s

Hi when you turn the fireplace on hi are you also setting the timer for how long you want it to operate? If you don't when the room set point temperature is reached the fire place will turn off when it reaches the set point temp. This is one of them government mandates thy made for electric blankets, heating pads, heater and so on to help you save electricity. My fire place will turn off when it reaches temp set point if I don't set the timer.

Hope This Helps Tim

this may sound like a stupid answer, but are at a 50 amp hook up? we can't use ours unless we have the 50 amps.

We had a similar problem and it was replaced under warranty. Now it works great!

Is there a temp control? Maybe set it higher to keep it running

On mine you can't do a lot from the unit and must use the remote control. Set temp higher...and it seems to work nicely. Not a roaring fire, but takes the chill out quickly.

Our fireplace says it is 72 and never shuts off. We do turn it off when sleeping as the bedroom gets way too hot as heat rises. Rely on furnace and cheap propane overnight.

RShleden I tried your idea and that didn't seam to help on mine. Thanks anyway
Tim: I'll give yours a try tomorrow. will let you know
Val; Mine is a 30 amp trailer. it doesn't throw the breaker so I assume it has enough power.

Happy Camper

If we open the 'screen' that hides the knobs, the heater cycles to maintain the temp we select. If we close the 'screen' the heater cycles constantly and doesn't warm the space. I don't know why the screen should interfer, it must push back the heat to the sensor somehow. But the fireplace heater works great with the 'screen' open.
