Angry Forester, Water heater stops after running 5 days.

Don't know if anyone else has had this issue, but wanted to toss it out there.

We have a new 2016 Forester 3051S. The water heater has stopped working on two different trips after it ran just fine for 5 days. Perhaps the 5 days is just a coincidence but that is what happened.

It was working on both shore power and LP for the first 5 days, and then it just stopped heating. Would not work on either shore power or LP.

After leaving the heater turned completely OFF for two days, it would then run on both shore power and LP.

The last trip I started turning the heater off at night and during the day when we were not in the coach and were out playing tourists. When we get up in the morning or return to the coach at the end of the day, I turn the heater on and it works fine.

If that always fixes the issue, I can live with it, but it should not have to be turned completely OFF like that. It should run for as long as I have it turned on to either shore power or LP.

Any info or feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I have an appointment with the RV dealer to have them keep the coach for a week to see if it happens when they have it.

Warranty. Take it back for repairs.

Don't live with that. Get it replaced or fixed. We have used ours for many thousands of hours without issue.

It sounds like a high limit cutout tripping and then resetting after it all cools down.

Have you tried pressing the reset buttons once it trips off?

Is this an Atwood water heater?

If it's an Atwood, the reset button should be under a cover right below the T&P valve.
