I freeze gallon size jug with water and a couple of 2L soda bottles with water. Put them in the fridge for the trip. Cools the refrigerator much faster and I use the water when it melts.

I turned on our frig yesterday and checked it a couple of hours later, the freezer was cold, but the refrigerator was still warm. I checked it again a few hours later and the refrigerator was cold as expected. The new thermometer I installed showed 32 degrees in the refrigerator and 12 degrees in the freezer.

My smart son put his smart phone on movie in the refer, yup the light was on. We figured out the door was missing a shim on the bottom hinge post, dealer put in the shim, refer working fine and the light goes out. There's a magnet in the 5 -6 inches from the top hinge pin, sensor in the frame above it, door was too low the make it work.

Thanks for helping others!

I shared this with someone on the Keystone Forum that was having a similar problem. I think the idea of the phone on video in the fridge is brilliant. I think that the people on this site are some of the most helpful that I have ever encountered and I appreciate you all sharing what you learn. Thanks in advance for what you will help me with eventually!

Tying in here..

Maiden camping voyage. Stopover first night....11 hours after we left home. Residential fridge.....icemaker...37 degrees in fridge when we left. Freezer at zero.

Got here....freezer at zero....fridge at.......86!!!!

Food ruined. Ice still fine.

Frudge door slightly open, even though tightly strapped. Freezer door ok.

Inverter was running fine.

Now need to chunk a bunch of food and figure out how to keep doors shut.
