Fridge
Will the fridge run off just the battery or do you have to have gas on or be plugged in?

If you have an rv fridge you need gas and battery for gas operation and for shore power you need battery.
Gas + battery for gas mode
Shore + battery for electric mode.

Most of us plug the RV into shore power and use electric side overnight.
Then switch to propane side while traveling.

Only those of us who store at home.
Those of us who store in a storage lot have to light off the gas the night before.

Why do you need battery with shore power ? mine works when hooked to shore and no batteries . seems the converter takes 0ver

What I really meant is you need 12v as well on shore power.

It's "generally accepted" that you shouldn't run your converter without a battery, as the battery acts as a "filter" to smooth out the 12VDC (which is made from alternating current) and a "cushion" for sudden load changes, like when you turn something on or off.
That being said, I just read a WYFCO installation and operating manual and it didn't say anything about running it without the battery.
