Fridge door

I recently purchased a used 2007 FR Shamrock hard slide. On our maiden voyage last month, the contents of the fridge spilled out everywhere while we were on the road. I looked really closely at the tiny catch that holds the door latch in place. On the top freezer, the catch looks like a little wedge of grey plastic. On the fridge door, the plastic piece seems to be missing. I see that on the hinge side, there are two of the same grey catches (I'm assuming so that the doors can reverse to open the opposite way). There's a small metal piece exposed and it seems the catch broke off on the fridge door frame..

My question is this - can these little catches be easily replaced? Is it common for them to break or fall off? (okay - two questions)

Our next trip is this Friday down to Bahia Honda. I was thinking I could use a small piece of duct tape to keep the door closed if I can't get it fixed before we leave. The fridge seals fine when the trailer is set up.

Most anything is replaceable but I can't tell you for sure in your instance. However if there is a Camping World nearby you can step into, then ask their parts people. We have found ours to be quite knowledgeable about such things and they have a great supply of parts for the appliances behind the counter. They might just have what your looking for.

We also try to lock the fridge items in place with a couple of expandable bars.....just in case.

Thanks for the suggestions and the links. I went to Camping World In Ft Myers on our way home after purchasing the TT nearby and they were great. It's a few hours from where I live so maybe I'll plan our next trip in that direction.

I have to go to Walmart to pick up a few things for our trip and I'll grab some of those expandable bars too.
