Fridge Drain Tube

Hello All
I have noticed that there is never any water dripping from the drain line on the back of my fridge. When I pulled the panel to take a look I saw that it is connected properly however the drain is wound around inside like a figure "S". There was water collected in it but it never actually drains. Is the tube too long and should I cut it off so it is strait down so it can drain better? Thanks in advance for your help and info on this.

As long as the water is not backing up into the frig its not a problem. The longer hose which is letting the water evaporate before coming running out also stops you from getting streaks down the side of the rig from water and dirt.

The s shape creates a drain trap similar to a sink. You usually only have water coming out if the fridge is open for a long time allowing condensation or when you first turn it off. This happens more in warm humid weather than in cooler dryer weather. You can also check to insure the screen ( cap with holes) on the end is clean.
