Fridge trouble, HELP

We are in a Walmart parking lot on our way to Florida. It is our first trip in our new TT. Long story, but the bottom line is the fridge is loaded and I can't get the propane to work. The dealer said at the walk Thru that all I need to do to switch from electric to propane was unplug the power cord and it would switch over. NOT. The manuel is no help. The propane tanks are full. I am getting ready to go into Walmart to buy coolers and ice. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Not knowing what your rig is I'm going to make a guess. Is your fridge switch in Auto? Are your batteries connected? If you had it on shore power and then unplugged it without the batteries connected the fridge will not come on with propane because there is no 12V

1. Make sure you have 12V power
2. Make sure the propane tank valves are open
3. Either have the fridge in Auto or Gas
4. Check to see if the chimney is getting hot on the fridge

good luck

Fridge is a Norcold. TT is a Grey Wolf 24RK. Both propane tanks are wide open. All the Manuel says is if light is solid green it is on electric. Solid Amber is gas. And solid red is not working. Each time I restart it it goes green, then Amber then says solid red. The manual says what to do if lights flashing, but that isn't the problem. Started out this AM on shore power at home, all ok while driving I believe. After we stopped I noticed light had changed to red. I figured there wasn't enough battery to keep the fridge going so I switched to propane. Now neither will make the fridge come on. I think I've answered the questions. Thanks for any help, or at this point even encouragement is good.

Try lighting the stove burners for a minute or so. You may not have all the air purged from the lines so it's not getting any gas to light.

Not familiar with Norcold, but most RV fridges will try lighting 3 times, then it will lock out. You need to then turn it off and back on to reset it; then it will try 3 more times.

One other thing I have heard is closing the lp valves then open really slow. Does the light come on in the fridge when you open the door?

Slept terribly for several hours. Checked the messages again and the answer was there. I lit the stove burners for a couple minutes and poof . . . It's on. Thanks to all.

Glad to hear all is OK! rockfordroo was spot on. Lighting your stove burners is the #1 thing you should try when you are having propane flow issues in your TT - it is the only direct line to your tanks and a sure-fire way to purge air from your lines

Now....go camping and
