Herk, I think your cards are upside down. I examined mine, and they are somewhat curved. Placing them into the latches from the top causes them to curve away from the fridge body, creating a less than positive connection and allowing the door to actually close nearly all the way. Feeding them in from the bottom, and snapping in place allows them to create a much more positive latch on the edge, which holds the door in proper position.

If they are upside down, the door latch might not catch the frame of the fridge to keep the door from opening farther than about 1/2 inch.

If you look at the photo, it appears the latch clip is facing us and there is no equivalent clip on the other side.

Now I need to check when I open up the camper next.

And if you have an outdoor 110v mini-fridge, I just stick a decent sized magnet on the door jam to keep the door from shutting.
