Frosty Freezer
Have a 2018 FR3 30DS and keep the unit plugged in while at home(have an RV 50/30/20) box so it gets what it needs for power. Anyway I keep the fridge on
so it nice an right temp when we load it up. HOWEVER, it never fails after just a couple days the Freezer begins to frost over on the back wall and in a day or so the temp rises from -10 to 0 and one time to 7. So we end up removing contents and defrost the freezer.....Thoughts

If you have an LP/AC reefer, it does not automatically defrost. If it is a residential reefer, then you have a problem with the evaporator defrost cycle.

Check the door seal if you are not opening it regularly as in non frost free fridges this is just moisture from the air condensing and freezing on the heat exchanger. If you are opening regularly to check the temp, get a remote fridge monitor.

agree with FlyBob, a day or so is way too fast to freeze up. Could be a door seal problem.

If it is an RV refer...
There really is no reason to leave it run all the time when not in use.
Just a waste of energy (I'm not a tree hugger, by the by).
However, if it is frosting up like that...maybe it is turned down too much (ie.- too cold).

Get a strip of paper and close the freezer door on it. Pull on the paper. Do this all around the door. If the paper pulls out with no friction at some point you've found the problem.
Also not a fan of leaving the RV fridge on all the time when not in use.
That's just me but they are expen$ive to
repair or replace so I don't see the good in
leaving it on if we're just parked at home.
Do check your door seal carefully as others have mentioned. Good luck!

Frosty Freezer
I am having a similar problem with my 2018 dometic 3962. At first I thought the frost on the back wall was due to me opening the door. I noticed recently the back was frosted even when I had not opened the door at all.
I did the dollar bill check on the door seals and the results were just So-so. I’ll put it on my dealer checklist when I go in for my warranty visit

That sounds like an RV fridge...no auto defrost that I know of.
I would guess that would be on a residential refer.

This will also happen more in higher humidity areas/times. When the fridge is opened, the humidity enters and freezes on the walls and back.
