furnace problems

heater won`t ignite . if I cover intake. Heater will fire up .if I just turn up thermostate blower comes on but wont ignite?? any suggestions would be helpfull

I wish I knew more about the direct ignition to help you out. I do know that the intake you're covering up is for combustion air for the burner and that's not something that you want to do. It must be something wrong with the positioning of the ignitor, detector, something like that. Definitely work for a qualified furnace tech.

Thanks for the info . I always try to fix things myself but I think you might be right . time to go to the heater tech ..Just hate going to dealers for anything feel like they try to rip u off!!!
