Well I am stubborn and pulled the furnace. Not a big job anyway. It was very dusty and other than that heat exchanger looked new but dusty. I took a nylon bottle brush and some computer dust blower(which set off the propane alarm) now I know it works. After I cleaned every thing including spiders and webs in the combustion air intake It smells much better and I feel better.Next time I will listen to you guys. Well you now have more experience than me with the heater!
I have not had to remove it yet.
Hopefully if I ever have to you will be around to give me some advice!
