Furnace won't light

I have a 2003 All-American boondocked in northern MI. I'd be grateful for advice on what to do about my furnace. When the temp drops below the thermostat setting the blower turns on, but instead of ignition, there's a "clickity-click-click-clickity-click" noise that comes from the plastic grate in the kitchen's ceiling, and nothing else. This will go on indefinitely. A couple of times, after turning off the furnace for some time, it operated "normally" for a short time upon turning it on again, but quickly went back in "clicking" mode whereupon the furnace shuts down (blower still worked). I took the metal box out of the ceiling where the noise was coming from and brought it down state for a guy I know does HVAC to look at. He says he tested it and it was fine. After re-installing the box, now the blower doesn't work either. Input? Thanks.
