Furnace wont shut off

The batteries went completely dead. I plugged the trailer in and now I can't get the furnace to shut off. Any ideas?

Shut the t-stat off, killed the main breaker, the furnace breaker( same as inverter) and it continues to run.

Try pulling the 12 volt fuse. My Sunseeker did the same thing. Pulling the fuse shut the furnace blower (and the refrig) off. Replaced the fuse and blower did not restart. I assumed it was a stuck relay in the furnace.

You have a circuit breaker on your furnace???
Circuit breakers are typically for 120 V items like outlets and
microwave and roof AC.
Things like the furnace blower are 12 v and have blade FUSES.

As mentioned try pulling the furnace FUSE and it will stop.
You might try giving the control board a whack as it could be a stuck
relay.

I had a previous trailer that had a furnace that would come on by itself
even if the Thermostat was turned off.
I pulled it off the wall to replace it and found the installer had stripped
the wires way long on the back and 2 wires were touching.

It could be a stuck relay or a short in the thermostat wire due to a screw
stuck thru the wire or poor connection that's shorting together either
at the T-stat end or the furnace end.

Having said all that if you pull the right fuse it will stop unless it's
haunted or something

Good Luck!
Please tell us what you find.

Are you sure you're not confusing the converter fan for the furnace? With a dead battery, the converter would be working hard and the cooling fan will be revved up.

Nope. It is the furnace. Found the fuse, listed as "appliance" . I pulled the t-stat apart this morning before work . I couldn't see anything wrong there. I will play with it after work as last night it was close to 11 when I plugged the trailer in.
Thanks for the advice.

Is the furnace gas burner actually coming on? On my rig, there are two thermostats, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Either one will start the furnace. They both have a "mode" switch for the fan with "auto" and "run" settings. In "run", the fan is on all the time, regardless of whther the furnace is actually heating.

I haven't checked whether the t/stats control each a/c zone independently. Does the furnace stop if you switch to a/c?

It might be that the switch is stuck in "run" or shorted.

The furnace stays on when I turn on the a/c as well. it does not make a difference at all what setting it is on it still runs. I am going to play with the t-stat when I get home tonight. did your parents ever figure their issue out?

I didn't see that you pulled the fuse and it stopped. What happened when you put the fuse back in? It sounds like you need to replace the furnace board to me.

You could try and replace the thermostat first. The thermostat tells the board when to turn on and off. If that doesn't work it must be the board in the furnace.

Before replacing the t-stat, take the cover off of the t-stat and remove the white wire from the terminal. If the problem is in the t-stat it will stop running. It sounds like the board is bad in the furnace or the fan relay is welded closed.

pulled the furnace apart last night. banged the side and now it works. looks like a bad relay. but I will test my luck and keep using it untill the bang method no longer fixes the issue.

Problem solved !!

Just like my ole Navy days, "GET A BIGGER HAMMER", it that doesn't fix it----------- well you know what?????? Sounds like something a "BRIT" would do!

Glad you got it solved, maybe there was was a wire touching where it should not have been, next time look a little closer look for a wire that may be grounding out under some cover ??????
