furnace won't start

Hi we have a 2014 wildwood xlite and want to go winter camping but need the furnace to work. We have checked the fuses.turn on propane and yet the furnace won't start up. As get real cold here in bc we need it to work. So we are looking for help with this situation. Thank you

You can try cycling it on and off a few times to see if the gas lines need bleeding?

Hi what is recycling on and off mean. as I'm new and I'm not used to these terms. I also have to pass on these messages to my hubby. Thank you for the help

ok hubby understands cycling. but he says the fan doesn't come on before the gas.

Unsure of that issue it might be the circuit board is bad, does the fan make and weird noises? Our Teton had one of its fans bearings go out.so the fan would slow start then start howling. Is the burner lighting without the fan running?

Also make and model # of said furnace might help.

has the thermostat been switched to the heating mode? Not sure if you have an electronic T stat or the older one with slide bar to adjust the temp set point. There should be a manual switch on the older style T stat. The newer electronic ones have to be switched over to heating on the digital interface before the furnace fan will start this will start the ignition process. If the gas has been off for a month or more make sure to purge the air out of the gas line by starting a burner on the stove before trying to start the furnace. Good luck hope this helps.

If this is the first time the furnace has been used for a while, you may have air in the propane lines that needs to be bled out. Try the following in order.

1. Turn on gas cook top and allow a burner to burn for a few minutes then shut off.
2. turn thermostat to the off position ( not just to a lower temp). Wait 30 seconds.
3. Try furnace again, Fan should run first then furnace will try to start.
4. If no luck try step 3 again a few times need to purge last few feet of gas lines.
5. If no luck after 3 -4 trys, go to step 2 and try 2-4 again.

There is a safety shutdown that disables the heater after a few failed attempts. You need to shut system off to reset the safety feature.

I also talked to hubby and he said the fan didn't kick in either. We have to try some suggestions.

Are you pluged into ac power, battery may be low

if you're plugged in, the battery lights will not reflect their actual charge level.
you have to unplug from shore power and then check the battery monitor lights.

If you haven't used any of the propane for the other appliances, stove, fridge,etc, Try to light the burners on the stove to allow all the air to escape from the lines. Once the burners light and burn, turn them off and try the furnace. Hope this helps.
