I didnt mean to be too abrasive, I know the original posters feelings because I have a concertone zx600 that the dvd player quit accepting dvd's and I am dealing with a FR rep at this time and this one was replaced once under factory warranty and this one is only 9 mths old and is acting funny, if nothing gets resolved I did purchase an extended warranty to also cover these issues, Yes it is a pain but we all know we only hear the bad, talked with plenty of campers and their concertone systems work great

Just sayin

I didn't know what the heck to do ,until someone on this form clue me in ,I hane a separate Amp that runs off 110 ,Sony TV ,Sony Blu Ray a 2.1 system ( is 50 watts ) . The other speakers are still Surround sound ,over all it sounds 100% better..

Bob I just want to again say thanks for participating on this forum. You have made a difference and it seems that the newer Concertones have improved.
A lot of people still own the old ones and are still having the same old problems. That's mostly what we read about on this forum.
Again, hang in there. You doing a good job.

Well I received a call from my dealer last week that the new radio was in and that I needed to take my old radio out of the camper and take it in for trade. Finally was able to get there this past weekend and Concertone traded my ZX700 for the new Genesis 3.0 (ZX800)! Not what I was expecting them to do, but I am very pleased!
Now if only the temps would drop below 100 for a few days so that I can get back into the camper and get the new one plugged in! (Just another reason I need to run 30 amp service to my camper site so that I can run A/C!!)

My TT is 4 years old, and I have replaced the radio 3 times. the current one lasted 19 months, and now is screwing up. Forest river is washing their hands of it. I don't know what to do now.

Mine was working great, until it decided to turn on by itself, and flashes "LOADING", and you have to pull the fuse to take the power from it. So are these coments crap, or the product? I don't know. All I know is it should last alot longer for what you pay for it.

A friend had this problem. He is a tinkerer and he took it apart and bent
the little micro switch that activates when you insert a CD/DVD.
Apparently the switch was a hair away from making even without a disk.
It fixed his and he says it's still working a year later.
You might give it a try.

Apparently this is common. Mine would also turn on all by itself.
I didn't try to fix the switch I tossed the unit and bought a Jensen.
I'm OK with the Jensen but miss the NOAH weather channels and don't
much care for the tiny Jensen remote.

Its a piece of junk, had mine 3 years and it is toast. Forest River or Concertone will not do anything. I don't see how FR can sell their RV's in good concious to people knowing that the system is "JUNK".

Being a "newbie" - our TT is exactly 60 days post assembly today - I'm not sure I'm qualified to comment on this, but I'm going to anyway. We have a Genesis 3.0 in our Rockwood 8293RKSS and it works GREAT! I'm very pleased with it and I can tell you I was absolutely petrified to even turn it on after reading all of the horror stories on these forums. We did have one slight problem with one of the buttons, which was easily rectified by our dealer. Other than that it has been issue free. Sound is great, the Satellite radio ROCKS and DVD, surround sound, ipod capability, etc. are awesome.

I'm just throwing this out there - we live in Wisconsin, which experiences some VERY frigid temps in the winter and right now, we're going through an extremely hot and humid patch. Do these variances in temperature have anything to do with the problems people are seeing? Not that I want to hijack this thread, but we have 3 televisions in our unit, and I'm wondering if we have to remove them in fall before we put the TT in storage. And on that same note....should we remove the Genesis unit as well? Bob.....I'd be very interested on your thoughts on this as well.

Thanks!! And happy camping everyone. Only 11 more days to go until our next camping trip. Yea!!

I would be willing to split the cost for the service plan with Concertone to upgrade, but I don't feel comfortable if it will only last 1 1/2 years, and they won't stand behind it.

The compact size for what you get is great. If there was a comparable unit that operated the same I probably would check it out. We are seasonal and could use a house unit, but the 12 volt system is nice.
