GPS
Looking for the best GPS unit to buy for my travels. Would like a unit that gives information about driving a RV and not just a car or truck. A unit that gives information while on the road about what is up ahead that would be for a large RV T.T. Thanks in advance.

Truth be told, we own a Garmin RV edition.. whatever model it is. It has sat in our center console since we launched fulltime almost 10 months ago. My wife uses Google Maps and Allstays Camp & RV on her phone for almost everything (campground finding and routing/navigating). For low clearances, we rely on roadside signs and *knock on wood*, we haven't yet had an issue.

The two best are the Garmin RV 760 LMT and the Rand McNally 7730 LM.

We just purchased the Garmin 760 LMT and you can set up you specs for your rv and when not traveling with the RV you can use it in car mode. It is voice activated and so far I highly recommend this unit.

The Garmin also acts as a hands-free bluetooth device when paired with your phone. And if you install the Smartphone Link app on your phone it will use your phone's data connection for other services like weather/alerts, traffic/cameras, Foursquare (some of these are extra cost).

I've got the new Garmin RV 660 it has a 6" glass screen with the same resolution so it seems a little sharper. It has a couple new features over the 760 like easy route changes. This is my third Garmin and these newer models sure are a big improvement over the old Nuvis.

I have used Garmin for many years. Currently using the Nuvi 465T (truckers version). Thre RV xxx Garmins did not exist when I bought this one. It allows you to set your profile for RV and I have added a POI file for clearances over & above the garmin standard restrictions. It has allways worked well. But remember with any GPS to use your common sense and actual road signs over ride what GPS might be indicating.
