Gray Wolf A/C 2016

Friends -my 27RR Gray Wolf has a problem. When I turn A/C on in heat, it runs loud and hard for about 45/60 minutes. Then shuts off, not just the compressor, but the whole thing. (FYI LEDs are still lit as if it was running). I set fan at medium, no fan, turn thermostat up to 90 for about 15 minutes, then off, then on. Now it will cool wildly for another hour.

This cannot be the way it should work. Help me please. Great RV, but now I do not like it much.

Thanks in advance,

Do you have it set for automatic?

Yes - at first I did, but found if i left it there it would take too long to come back on.

Gray Wolf A/C 2016

The system is designed to have a short delay when adjusting temp and just turning on. So if you just switching to fan to run but not giving it a minute for the delay the fan may not kick on.

If it is sounding loud in the living space make sure the quick cool down vents which is located right on the unit is closed.

If it gets to set temp it will shut off until it needs to cool more because it is reading warmer.

On a very hot day the best thing to do is a gradual decrease in temp. This won't overtax your unit

Good advice, I will just be patient and not be in a rush to drop the temp and blast the A/C. Sounds like it was an operator problem.

Thanks all...

All - you will not believe this. It seems all these Domintic (sp?) roof mount A/C's are junk. They replaced the WHOLE thing. I completely went out. Although it was under warranty (what a ROYAL pain). Now here is the clincher. The warranty was 2 years, used 12 months. Now the new warranty is not 2 years even though it is new, they pick up where the other one left off, 12 months left.
