Help!!

Hello and thanks for reading, possibly helping me. I'm in need of a good vacuum cleaner that I can store easily. Preferably one that can collapse to take up as little space necessary. Any suggestions or info? We have carpet and laminate flooring along with a couple dogs.

We have a cheap stick vac from Walmart. Less than $20, if I recall correctly. It does a "good enough" job while we're away but we do take our home vacuum out for a good cleaning.

I'm looking forward to installing a central vac system.

Would you know how hard it would be to install a central vac? I've looked into that because I think it might be worth the price if the install is not ridiculously hard and it works as advertised

Don't know if you're in a TT or FW, but I'm planning on installing mine under the stairs in my fifth wheel. I have an electric outlet in the area and should just have to fish lines for hookups. We'll see.

My father in law and I planned on doing it soon, but it looks like all of my extra time and energy are going to be spent elsewhere for the next few weeks.

It's all a matter of if you have a place for the canister with electric to that spot or not. I think my area will be cramped to get to, but should be a fairly easy install (famous last words!).

Have the central vac and love the kick sweeper. It was factory installed. I catty a nano Hoover with me for a actual vacuum. It does a great job is ageless and the handle collapses down.

I love the kick sweeper so much my dh install the RV central vac in cabinet in my kitchen he said that it wasn't bad. It also didn't take up much space but in a camper A little space is a lot. Good luck in your decision I hope this helps

We bought this for our RV:

Oreck Ultimate Handheld Canister Vacuum Bundle 743808100182 | eBay

Only problem is that it works SO well I keep it here in the house also!

Edited to add: we bought a refurbished one, and IIRC it was around $50.00 on Amazon. It's very small; less than a foot wide and probably around 18" tall.

Does it work well on carpet as well as hard flooring?

We have a Eureka quickup that we use at home - it is cordless, rechargeable like a dustbuster with a handle - it has a motorized roller head that can be turned on/off - has a dirt catch cup - works well - they also make a corded plug-in model but we preferred the cordless

The nano does work well on both. The central vac would not be good on carpet.

I have a hoover nano from when I had my motor home. The Sanibel has the central vac and it does well, but I run the nano on the carpets since it has the beater brush. I had read you can get an electric beater brush for the intellect central vac, and its on my buy list if I can find it as that would mean I didnt have to carry two vacuums.

The Red Devil central vac works good on carpet if you get the power head. I installed one in our 5er right after we got it new.

Yes. Here at home we have Pergo type flooring in the great room....and we have a parrot. Nuff said?

The main reason I keep waggin' it back into the house from the RV is that it works SO well cleaning up seed debris under his cage. It's small yet powerful, no need to drag out the big vacuum for a quick clean up.

My sister bought herself, my other sister, and my wife each a Eureka Quick-Up for use in each one’s travel trailer. They all liked them so well that they each purchased 1 for home. They do not take up much room and they’re very inexpensive. You can get them at Walmart.
