Help request for radio issues (Magnadyne rv4000)

I had asked this in the Cherokee forum but it was kind of lost in the post about going out for the first long trip in it.

Had a few issues with the trailer but nothing earth shattering. Two issues we had were with the radio. One was a reception issue. A suggestion was made to try the TV antenna booster when using the radio to see if that help the reception. The radio gets a signal but when we stand in certain areas of the trailer (prob between the radio station and radio) it gets all static. I have not been able to test the Ant button as all our local stations have good reception.

Second issue... Radio will work fine for an hour or so then for no reason lock up. It will be on still but the display freezes up and requires the rest button to be pushed. Anyone else have this before?

The trailer is new so it is a warranty item if needed bit I will fix it myself if a simple repair to avoid the ride to the dealer...

I would start with double checking the radio wiring to ensure it is accurate and tight (especially the ground). I would also verify power connections at the battery posts and converter. Lastly and if accessible, check the frame ground. a bad ground could cause reception and lock up problems.

Also many of us have seen the occasional antenna not even being plugged in. You can check that when you check the wiring too. This would not explain you lock ups however.

The radio used in my Sunseeker is a piece of junk when it is working at its best. I just returned from a 2 week trip and it was useless most of the time. It would freeze up almost everyday, reception of radio station is poor at best, GPS tells me I need to update. Once it froze, I have to reboot. Then all my programmed travel info had to be reloaded. I contacted the company that makes these pieces of junk, they sent me some SD cards with info to load Into radio to fix any problems I had. We'll guess what, I did it follow instructions, it is still junk. I will refuse to buy anything that had on of these radios. Why Forest River uses these crappy radios is questionable.
