Power source determines how it works. I installed a “backup” camera on my Dually. However, instead of wiring power from the reverse lights, I powered the camera to a constant HOT wire then put in a switch. I use the camera when I wanna by simply turning the switch on.

They should get power from the running lights. If your unit is pre wired its a piece of cake. I was told the only difference between the two models is range and picture quality.
