Question for the electrical experts. Can a truck's alternator put enough charge into 2 deep cycle batteries to be able to run a regular home style refrigerator from an inverter? Just wondering.
I found some power consumption numbers...380W for a 16 cu ft fridge/freezer, 420W for 20 cu ft. This is probably running and as you say, starting draw would be higher.
I seen a mid 80s 1/2 cargo van being used as a ice cream truck with a full size freezer in it. The inverter was laying beside the freezer and it was the largest one I've seen...not that I've seen a lot if them.
750 watts / 13v = 57.7 amps. I think alternators are about 55 amps normally but may be wrong. It sounds pretty iffy. For sure your truck won't charge your RV batteries to do it that way. There was another thread on this very topic last week I believe it was. You would need to put the inverter into the truck and run an "extension" cord from there to the refer. Just don't leave it running when the truck engine is off.
