Hot water Heater propane flame

Trying the water heater in a "new to us" 2005 Sierra and we replaced the anode rod (which we knew nothing about, but it did go smoothly). When we lit the propane the flame seemed large, any suggestions or comments...Thanks

The flame in the WH is pretty large - it pretty much fills the tube. If its adjusted correctly, you should just see a little bit of orange on the tips at the far end and it should not be 'lifting' away from the orifice.

The water heater flame should be large but should be blue in color and will sound loud. If the flame is yellow, you will need to adjust the air flow.
