Question How difficult is it to remove a ZX75...

I need to remove my ZX75 to have it replaced on my 2011 Shamrock 19, instead of taking the whole trailer, my dealer suggested I take it out and bring it to them - they will simply order a new one and swap it with me. I do not mind doing it - as I 'll have a chance to see the connections at the back at the same time.

Is is something like just a press-fit, do I need to pry off a bezel first or what ?

Thanks.

If it is like mine all you need to do is use a plat tipped screwdriver and pop off the outer ring. Under that you will find I believe 4 or 6 screws that mount it to the wall. When it comes off the wall all you need to do is unplug the plugs and antenna.

Hope this helps

As Iggy said it is very easy. The ZX75 has a bezel that runs down each side.
I use a phlat head screw driver and pop them off. Underneath you will find 3 holes on each side. There is probably a drywall screw in each hole that uses a #2 phillips screw driver, there was in mine. Be careful when you unscrew them because the head is actually a little too big for the hole and can bind.

I would also add,
Mark each wire you unplug from the old unit. It will make installing new one easier.

If they are replacing it with a ZX75 then you should be able to just unplug the main harness as well.

Depending on what was happening with the unit, you may need to double check the connections.

Thank you all - got it.

Now I just need to buy one of those new 'phlat' blade screwdriver set - love new tools.
