How do you get TV to get programs w/antenna

We have a 2013 8289WS 5'er & we are attempting to get the 4 listed tv stations at our campground and have the antenna up and the "booster" on and as we turn the antenae around we still are not getting a picture. TV is set to antenna/cable for input. What are we doing wrong?

You will have to scan for new stations on the television, do this with the antenna pointed in the direction of the transmitters.

There is an app for android called TV Antenna Helper, that will help you locate them. Any time your at a new campground, or change the RV's location scan again.

Yes every time you move the antenna you'll have to select "scan" in the menu.

I don't see where you select "scan" and must you do it after every turn of the antenna even if it is a small amount.

Yes if you didn't pick up the stations you were expecting.

Usually there's a "setup" or "installation" section in the menu of your tv.

And yes it's quite possible to turn it a very little and go from 1 station to 5 stations, or vice versa.

Herk7769 can help tremendously in this department.
I'll have him poke in.

FINALLY found this thread

OK, using a program/ap like www.antennaweb.org or www.TVFOOL.com

Locate the direction from your campsite to the local transmit tower.

You can switch to "satellite" view to actually find your site and aim along the line to the tower to find what to aim your antenna at.

Remember, newer antennas are DIRECTIONAL and the white amp box/short elements on the head must point TO the towers and the "wings" must be like the wings of an aircraft and be 90 degrees to the tower heading.

Once you are aligned, then you need to rescan the TV's tuner to find your channels. ALWAYS turn booster on (light ON in faceplate) when using roof antenna and then scan.

Use TV setup and always select "AIR" or "ANTENNA" depending on TV model when scanning.

With an iPhone/iPad you can use the free "TV Towers" App.

If your unit has a "Jack" antenna, the "arrowhead" must point to the towers.

BE WARNED! Jack antennas with the blue signal strength bars can deceive you regarding the TV towers. The Jack will pick up UHF signals from channels 13 to 69.

HOWEVER, TV channels END at channel 53 and all "channels" ABOVE 53 are CELL PHONE TOWERS.

With a Jack, you can be getting 4 blue signal bars and no TV signal because it has locked up on a phone cell tower.

Winegard makes a new wall plate that has signal strength and channels being received in digital numbers. This wall plate rejects channels 54 through 69 and will not display signal strength for cell towers.

My TV has a feature in the control menu to tell you what the signal strength is and what is the maximum for the area your in. Turning the antenna while watching the signal strength raises or lowers the signal (Red-Yellow-Green) to the maximum. Some location I have been at will not get anything above yellow. Those areas usually won't have good cell or hotspot coverage either Hope you carry DVDs with you. I do.
