How to get the outside cover off the fridge..?

Yes, I know this is a basic (silly) thing to ask but, idk what in the heck those black plastic tabs/screws are supposed to do.
Do you turn them and take them off, or do they just twist and stay in place?
I just want to take it off so I can put some plastic inside the opening for winter.

Take a quarter coin and turn the two tabs 90 degrees from being locked and the whole cover should remove by pulling the top out first.
They stay in place and don't come out.
You will see two tabs on the bottom of the cover which must go in first when reinstalling.

Hmmm......the bottom of mine comes out first, and goes in last.

This is what mine looks like.
I think the one on the 2012 Rockwood 2306 is with the locks on the bottom.

There'll be a drainage line poking through the cover...make sure that you re-install it if you remove the cover. You wouldn't want that draining inside under the fridge.

Iggy, mine looks like Mini LIte 2306 in picture 2 with the twist locks on the bottom. In either case, I think the lock end of the grill should the 1st off, last on, as the non-lock end would probably have the tabs that fit into the frame.

No disrespect intended but, I just don't get it.


I have owned 2 brand new TT's in the last 4 years, purchased them from different dealers and on both of the PDI's, the technician showed us how every access door (fridge, furnace and heater) opened and showed us what was behind each one and what to look for (superficially of course) if something didn't work. So, especially for newbies or oldbies who haven't had a NEW TT or 5er in a while, the tech shouldn't assume you know how everything works or even opens.


So, I'm glad you came here first. That's part of what we are here for. Learning here is better than "yanking" the cover off, breaking the tabs and saying "Oh, s#@*!!!, where am I going to get new ones?

but
specializing in water delivery systems
but dang me
first trip out with our new to us trailer
the fridge stopped working
I think that it was a leveling problem
went outside to open that door
I did not get it open
was afraid I was going to break someTHING
thanks to this thread
once we know how it opens
we may be more determined knowing that
yes this is the proper way in which to turn
(((( and nothing should break )))
when THINGS have not been opened for a while
they may be kind of stuck in there
just a little slight force used possibly

Some of the new campers don't have the drain line any more that sticks through the grate openings. A line goes to a cup to hold the condensate water and lets it evaporate. (When they repaired my camper,they installed the new design.)

Does anyone know where I might be able to buy one of these covers? Recently bought a 2000 FR Flagstaff and they just had carboard taped over the opening for the fridge controls. Thanks.

any RV parts place or Camping World. even a RV dealer's parts dept.

they're a standard size and basically fit all RVs.
