how to make refrigerator bungee

our residential refrigerator came with a couple of bungee cords you hook to hooks on the molding on each side and run across the refrigerator to keep the doors closed. somehow we lost one. the thing about the bungee cords is they have a small plastic hook and a rubber cord. no metal hooks to scratch the doors. I looked all over for them and couldn't find them. dealer couldn't help. I finally ended up making my own with parts from amazon. ebay probably has them also. the hooks were called 'fms small shock / bungee open hooks' and the cord material was '1/4" buna-n o-ring cord'. they were extremely easy to assemble and they are absolutely identical to those we had.

My Windjammer 3039w came with RV refrig, but we requested a residential instead when we bought it. The dealer installed it and no securing of doors was done and ours did open down the road once. Instead of straps or such, I chose to pull one of the screws for changing the door hinge swap, and make a simple holder using all thread (mine was metric), a knob and piece of ptfe or wood block to tighten in and hold both doors securily closed. Works great. My wife covered the block with that foam type shelf liner to insure no scratches.
