I mounted the switch close to the battery. Then I disconnected the GROUND cable from the battery and bolted it to one of the terminals on the switch. Then, all you need is a short piece of cable with an eyelet terminal on either end and connect it from the other terminal on the switch over to the battery negative stud. That's it.

I recommend 4/0 AWG cable per each battery terminal in addition to the disconnect. The position on the trailer can complicate matters depending where you install it. But generally pretty straightforward install with the manufacturer's instructions.

What disconnect did you buy? This matters because it could be a simple on/off switch or a more complicated dual 12-volt switch that allows battery 1, battery 2, both or off.

I have a 1/2/1+2/Off switch. I initially thought I'd fit it on the battery housing, but it's too big for that. I'll look for a 4/0 battery cable. Thanks.

Those are very nice to have with two 12-volts.

Your instructions should show you some wiring instructions like this ...
