Unfortunately it's called "Quality Control", which seems to be nonexistent at the manufacturer's level, but becomes the Dealer and owners responsibility.

I reported the volume problem to my dealer yesterday. They already know about the trouble caused by the last fix. They are waiting to hear from forest River regarding a new fix to fix the fix.

The dealer told me that FR is sending another unit. This time they're going to test it before they send it. Testing, now that's a novel idea.

I have a new symptom now. I was running my outside speakers while doing some yard work this weekend. Ever hour or so, the speakers would turn off. The only way to get it working again was to turn the unit off and the back on again. This seems to happen when the volume is up a bit. I still have the problem that i can't turn it down to a comfortable volume. I reported this new problem to the dealer. Looks like iRv66 number 4 is not my magic number.

IRV Radio

I picked up my trailer yesterday. After fighting with the radio all day I check in here and find I'm not the only one. I ordered my trailer so it was just built weeks ago.
The radio sound cuts in and out, when you can get it to work the volume has to be very loud. If the turn the volume down it it doesn't work at all.
So I guess I go to the dealer and ask for help, but it sounds like it's Forest River's problem buying the IRV radio tin the first place.

yeah mine was swapped out this week and it is alittle better but below 6 the volume doesnt change at all lol. Its a piece of junk. I put the soundbar and sub in mine from Polk Audio and use that it sound so much better than the factory setup anyways. I tied the output of the irv radio into the soundbar so I can use the dvd or fm radio and it sounds much better.

The soundbar is probably a good thing but I just bought a brand new trailer with a stereo and 10 speakers and a sub woofer. It should at least work. Now I find the DVDs are playing fast. Voices are high and not right. The sound cuts in and out unless it is at a very high volume. Nothing works at a low volume. I am hopeful that this can get fixed and I don't plan on just leaving it alone as is. This is not acceptable. Maybe I'm naive.

My trailer is at the dealership right now with some minor punch list items. This POS radio system is one of them. They are waiting to hear from Rockwood on it.

That is the first time I heard about Dvd play problems. The list keeps growing and growing. I could replace the system and put this trouble to bed, but you are right! I am calling my dealer again as soon as is i stop typing. I think Forrest River is just hoping the masses will quiet down and accept it. They should be offering an alternate system by now.

The dealer received the 2nd replacement and tested it before he gave me call. The replacement does not work. They contacted FR and a VP is looking into the problem. FR was supposed to test the radio before shipping, I guess that didn't happen. You would think after a year of complaints that FR would have resolved the problem.

I am glad to hear Forrest River finally kicked the problem up a level. I am just trying to get my dealer to return a phone call, but I guess that is for a different thread😩. My frustration has layers and layers.

Anything new on what the factory response is on this radio? I took my new Flagstaff back to the dealer and listed my complaints on the radio. I guess we will see what happens.

Oh man, my new unit is suppose to have an IRV33 Radio in it. Sounds like a bad design radio?

I believe that this radio has so many problems that Forest River does not know what to do. It appears that every camper built in the last 4 months that has a IRV radio has problems. Some have reported they are on their 3rd radio and still have problems. Hopefully Forest River can get this fixed or a suitable replacement.

Got a call from the RV dealer, said our new stereo unit is here. I asked them to test it before we made the trek to dealership. Office staff said she'd check with the service manager, will be interesting to see what his response is.

I will be calling my dealer in the morning. Just picked up my new 2015 Flagstaff Micro Lite and the iRV33 speakers cut out after a time period. Power down with short wait will get the sound back until the next cut out. It seems like the output amplifier is over-temping and triggers an auto shutoff.
Hopefully, Forest River will resolve this issue before the camping season gets into full swing.

Mine is at the dealer now. I'll pick it up in a couple days. I'll see what my dealers fix is.

If the amplifier is overheating, I wonder if there is somethkng we can put a heatsink and/or fan on.
