I went through Todd and replaced my radio. As far as I know my dealer has no idea that I replaced the radio. In fact I'm still waiting for my dealer to call me with a fix.

My dealer and I tried dealing with forest river and they agree the radio had problems but wouldn't send a new unit until the dealer checked out the old one to make sure it was bad. That's a 2-1/2 hr. trip each way. I had my dealer contact Todd directly and Todd called me and he agreed that I had the vol problem and sent out a replacement to my home. I swapped out the unit and sent the bad one back to them.

tntbream,

If you have either an IRV33 or IRV66 radio then you can definitely go direct to Todd. He is a direct contact at Patrick Industries (the radio manufacturer) and all of the models (new designs) that were installed up until about a month ago are suspect. Todd only requires the model number, a brief description of the problem and your shipping address. He will ask for a credit card to guarantee that you will box up the faulty radio and send it back, but the new radio comes with a prepaid trip back.
I got my new radio within three days and it now works properly.

I got my replacement radio today and installed and it does the same thing. Also makes a little chirping noise occasionally when switching between sources. Guess I need to contact Todd again.

Irv 66 stereo

Is anyone having a volume issue with stereo? Just picked up 2015 2703 and the minimum volume when listening to the stereo is to loud. There is no way you could sit have a meal with "soft" music in the background. Is there any way to adjust? Iv looked in the manual and tried online. Thanks

maddiesmom06,

Many of the IRV66 units that were installed at the factory have the volume issue (design flaw). Todd from Patrick Industries should be able to ship you one that works correctly. Look back through these posts for his direct telephone number.

We only get a couple stations the others are pure crackle. I thought it was the antenna, not anymore.

HI all, we received our new radio. It's now installed and works. The only thing we noticed is static on the AM Radio settings. Thanks to Todd E at Patrick Industries, no hassles.

Have the IRV 66 , it does the same thing after about 10 to 20 min on fm radio the speakers cut in and out.
Also the DVD player becomes unwatchable after 20 min or so, the sound also Cutts in and out. Does anyone know of a replacement system that will drop in place of the 66? Trailer is 2 weeks old.

Connector behind unit may have come undone. Remove trim ring, remove the four or so screws, slide unit out there are 3 wiring harnesses and a antenna jack and possibly red and white RCA banana jacks. Make sure all are in tight.

No power

Like uhduh has mentioned ,but I'm sure you checked the plugs in the back. If no no luck get ahold of Todd Eash, his number is in this theread earlier and let him know what's happening . We bought a 2015 3008 windjammer and replaced the original with an updated irv66. ( software) . I don't know how many Irv66 forest river has in their stock , but seems to be a software issue. Received our new one, installed it ,and no problems at all now. Todd is an excellent person to deal with. If you go through the dealer you bought the trailer from you might get an old stock replacement with the same issues.
Good luck.

You could try the remote to turn it on? It might be the power button itself. the radio is powered by the 12V system make sure you are checking fuses and not breakers. How are you checking fuses by eye or with volt meter? Better results with meter. If fuses are good pull unit out remove connector (red wire hot 12V not sure about ground wire could be black some times white). If hot call Todd if not you will have to trace both wires looking for open circuit. But check connectors to see if tight!!!! first!!!

Has anyone tried usong the front HDMI port? Preferably for a Chromecast or Firestick? I tried the other day with a Chromecast and couldn't get signal to the television.

Also, I found that using digital coaxial sound from the television works better than analog. My wires were not hooked up right and tried both ways, and the digital is much clearer.

Radio

Get a new unit and put it in yourself. Very easy, they have had lots of problems with these Chinese Made Units.

iRV 66 Volume Problem Too

We just took our new 2016 Flagstaff V-Lite on its first shakedown cruise and discovered the volume problem, which was much too loud to suit our tastes, both on the HDMI input and on the radio setting. I will be contacting Todd Eash tomorrow. I am happy to know I am not the only one with this problem!

Todd Out Until July 7

I just called Todd Eash of QAV Patrick Industries about the iRV 66 volume problem. Unfortunately, he is off until July 7.

My irv 66 pooped out. It's brand new and doesn't function at all. Light come in and that's it. Any one else in the same boat?
