I'm aggravated .... Dometic Fridge errors

New 2017 Windjammer, Dometic DMR/DMC 7-Series .... is giving me the following error: "Overheating thermostat disconnected or The cooling unit has been over heated. Service is required."

Day before Labor Day, in the middle of Montana, no Dometic service center closer than Minot, and that will probably be closed tomorrow.

Removed 12v positive, and unplugged 110 for about 10 minutes to see if something would reset. Nope.

Help, anyone have a clue? (Before all my "stuff" thaws out)

Maybe a solution ...

I read in another thread of the breaker being tripped on the LP flu that gives those errors, I checked that, seemed to be ok. Maybe a replacement sensor, (breaker), will solve the problem.

To be determined, I'm tempted to just short across it and see if the fridge works then ... but there's that warranty to be considered.

Try this link. There is a Dometic tech on line at the moment.

When you checked the thermofuse (breaker), how did you check it?

If it were me, I'd jump across the thermofuse temporarily just long enough to see if the fridge would run.

There have been reports of those units reporting that the thermofuse was open when the problem was in the controls.

Is this fridge in a slide? If so,,,,go outside,,,,,open the upper cover,,,,find the thermal-switch on the downstream side of the cooling fins, disconnect the two wires and jumper them together. The outside condenser cooling fan should come on. If it does, you more than likely have a defective thermal-switch, and I was told by the warranty folks at my Windjammer dealership that they've had problems with that switch. If it's open,,,,the unit will overheat and give you that code.

Have same fridge

I have the same fridge in my 2016 Columbus 385bh. I had problems from the time it was delivered with it not working continuously. Finally, a repairman replaced one of the tiny fuses with a larger one. It has worked fine all summer.
I think the fridge has a flawed design.
