Infrared Receiver for Concertone ZX-700

In the Sabre 31-RETS the ZX-700 is built into a cupboard, great for asthetics but not to great for the remote. While installing a replacement ZX-700 the other day I noticed that there was a pig tail socket at the back for an IR receiver. Does any one know where I can get one of these receivers so that I can place it out in the open?

Here's a thought--
My sound system also faces the wrong direction for us to
use a remote from the bed where we often watch DVDs at the
end of the day.
I bought a pair of those little convex stick on mirrors you can find
at Wal-mart in the auto accessories isle. The kind people add
to the corner of their outside rearview mirrors to help see in the
blind spot.
I stuck one up on the wall opposite my DVD player.
I can now lay in bed and point my remote at the tiny mirror on the
cabinet and control the unit even thought our bed is 90 degrees
away from the player front.

Give it a try. You may need a helper to hold the mirror at different
angles until you find the sweet spot where your remote will work.

Funny you should mention the mirrors! This works quite well if it is only the ZX700 I want to control, however with the remote I am using If I want to watch TV I just hit one button and theTV is turned on, the SAT box is turned on and the ZX700 is turned on and I need to be pointed at all of them at the same time , ah the price of simplicity

Actually FR has nice IR Wall Plates you could order directly from your dealer along with the necessary cable size. We do not sell these directly at this time.

I am looking into the details for you...

Problem solved for $13.99

After trolling the net, I finally found the ideal solution for my problem. It's a 6ft lead that plugs into the back of the ZX-700 and has a small half sphere ~1" diameter on the other end which is the receiver. The receiver has a sticky pad on the back, and I have mounted it just below the TV. Reception is great and the ZX-700 hasn't missed an input from it yet.

Not sure if I can mention specific retailers here, but search Amazon for

INFRARED RECEIVER EXTENDER CABLE FOR HD DVR STB's

If you need the retailer, drop me a message.
