Irritating Thermostat Problem --

I have this thermostat installed in my TT and up to Thursday night worked flawlessly.

Thursday night was C-O-L-D. Not just well below freezing but also fairly windy. As a result the Furnace ran frequently. About 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off.

During the night it started to run full time so out of curiosity I checked the T-Stat. Room temp was 65 and "Set Temp" was 72. I'd set it for 61 for a cool but comfortable sleeping temp.

I reset it to 61, went back to bed, and when I woke up in the morning, sure enough, the Set Temp had risen to 72 and the furnace was was running continuously.

I've searched the "net" for others who've had this issue and most suggestions are "bad ground" or "Low Batteries". My batteries are Battleborns and even after two days of use they were still 70+% SOC. All grounds were recently upgraded from the factory connections so unlikely they are a factor.

Any experience with this problem? If cured, what did you do. FWIW, I AM NOT going to install a Honeywell, Hunter, or other household T-Stat. I still have warranty on this one if it comes down to that.

Since 72 degrees is the default setting when powered up i suspect that it's losing power briefly. Could this be happening in the furnace or at the power panel. Or has anyone found bad solder joints on the T-Stat circuit board.

Puzzling part is that the Furnace is working fine with no apparent power loss, just the T-Stat is acting up.

Any help is much appreciated.
