I have a new 2502ks that came with a irv 32 radio /DVD / control. Unless i am standing right in front of the unit with the remote it will not change functions of the player. It is kind of useless if you want to watch something from the bed.
Anyone have any idea on how to make the remote function better? The infrared remote sensor must not be very sensitive!
Our Rockwood has the IRV unit in the corner and we also had to stand in front of it to control it. After searching around on the internet, we found an IR Repeater which we ordered and received yesterday. We tried it last night and we were able to control the IRV from our sofa. We will run the wires and install it today. Sewell Direct sells the IR Repeater. The unit we bought is SW-30471. It is also available at Amazon.
I solved the problem by replacing the Irv unit with a Jensen JWM6A DVD/Radio player. The Jensen is a much better unit and the remote works well. The only problem is that I had to move the player to a different location since it is larger. There was a panel right beside the TV mount that is angled more towards the bed and that helped with the remote operation as well.
Glad the IR repeater worked for you, I would have tried that if I had known about it sooner.
