what iRV had to say on Facebook

As a retailer representing the product (and the manufacturer) I am happy to report that the defect rate has actually been quite low. The wiring should be doubled checked before replacing the unit to make sure the it is installed properly. If that checks out, then a replacement would be in order. There is no recall on any iRV products and the warranty processing is never delayed by the iRV manufacturer as replacements are readily available through the authorized dealer supply channel.

Does this apply to the iRV 66, also?

I am also absolutely happy to represent the iRV66 and the manufacturer.

They have demonstrated their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction via their handling of the well documented sound issue. The fact is, the company stepped up and was accountable and responsive to a solution. A free rapid replacement from the manufacturer via a quick and easy phone call with no red tape was instituted as evidenced by the quantity of people who came back on to say that they got their replacement, change out was easy and they are happy with their system now.

Other than this issue that thankfully only covered a smallish quantity of units, the defect rate is also very low.

Emphatic enough? :-)

Have I mentioned these are plug and play replacement for many concertone and genesis radios? :-)

Sounds good... our dealer is sending us a new one today... hope its not old stock and works fine... if not will be calling you to get another one?

Replacement is in

Put replacement iRV 33 in this morning and its working so far... but has quite a few less input and output ports on it.

Yes there were less rca jacks on back of new one. I can send you pics later this week if you like. I took a pic of old one before I disconnected it so I would know where to hook up new one.

Just wanted to pass on that the customer service Bob & RVtronics provided was great, replaced my radio and now problems are all fixed.

iRV problems

I have a 2016 Rockwood 2304DS. The iRV remote changes the TV channel when I try to change the volume. Dealer says they never heard of this before. That was yesterday. Today the unit will not play a DVD. Is anyone else having these issues?

Yes. We just took delivery of our Flagstaff 8529IKBS and have basically the same problem.
We found when using the iRV remote to change volume, it will change whatever the last function was that was used by the TV remote.

If I use the TV remote to change channel down, and then use the iRV remote to raise the volume it will also change the TV channel down.

If I use the TV remote to lower the TV volume and then use the iRV to raise the volume it will also lower the TV volume! WTH!

Haven't had time to investigate. Was hoping someone here had already went through this and had a solution.

DVD's play fine though.

Update. Called my dealer (Rousseau's RV in Lakeville Ma). No questions, FR sending a new unit. They have had a few with issues at the dealership.

iRV volume/speaker issues

We have multiple issues with our iRV stereo system.
First -the volume level when playing the radio. At volume level 1, it is STILL too loud (I like my music loud & also am hard of hearing). It makes it impossible to carry on a conversation without having to shout.
Second - All three speaker zones come on as soon as the unit is powered on. This can be embarrassing and frustrating if we forget to turn zones 2 & 3 off EVERY time we power the unit up. It seems like the unit should be able to be programmed and remember the speaker selection settings, just like a home stereo.
Third - When watching a movie or TV and using the unit, the volume changes periodically, like it is switching between speakers and subwoofer, or something like that. It doesn't cut out completely, but sections of conversations are just lost.


I see that others are having similar problems with the volume level, but no one has mentioned the other issues we are having. The manual is as good as not having one. Any suggestions?

Hi Dean. Welcome to the forum. To answer your question on the volume it is a issue that is corrected by getting the unit replaced. As for the different zones this something they may fix down the road. When I replaced my unit it still turned on all zones. Something I can live with now that I got the volume under control. This is a known issue with the IRV Mfg. Take it back to the dealer and IRV will replace it free.
