Is something missing here?

We certainly got the usual lousy manuals with this RV. It appears that there should be ports for both USB and SD cards. When we popped open the little door, we saw this: (see 2 photos). Any ideas what that slot is? Nothing fits in it. No extra parts in the box. No clues in the wonderful manual.

Looks like there may be several models and they use the same faceplate for all of them. The photo appears to show a cover for the location of the USB SD Card slot interface. It that is the case, you may be able to purchase the upgrade and it most likely plugs into the circuit board.

The slot is actually mammoth and swallows an SD card. A USB is too fat to stick in there. Weird.

Duped again, probably. First we discovered - no spare tire! I can't wait to get out on our first trip to discover what's next! For sure, we don't plan to go far from home!

How old is that device? If the slot is too big for an SD card them maybe it fits an old Compact Flash card? Just guessing.

It looks like there is an outline of where the USB connector should be immediately to the left of the SD card slot. Maybe Flybob is right that there are multiple models and you have the one without the USB connector despite the logo on the cover.

757Dave, this is in a 2015 Freelander. Itat, no outline there. Flybob is probably right. Happy Vibe, I did get the manual and it is useless. I plan to drop in to the dealership with the question and take a look at a similar model.

That does look like an SD slot. Are you sure you weren't trying to insert a Micro SD card? Those require an SD adapter.

Have you checked the glove compartment for a USB connector? The door may be simply advertising the capabilities of the unit.. not the actual location. Most that I have seen and the USB port on the rear of the unit. An extension cable is often routed to the glove box.

On edit: Zooming into the photo you can indeed see the USB port "knockout" outlined just to the left of the slot.

Not sure what your unit is but spare tires have been an option on most RV units for years. They do not automatically come with one. A spare tire was even an option on my 1992 F250 when I bought it back in 1992 Today many of the new cars like the Chevy Cruze do not come with spare tires. No duping just misinformation.

A simple google found this (assuming it is a xdvd3201)

Rear High-Speed USB Input: USB port allows connection to digital devices such as flash drives, portable media players, etc.

Yarome - I think you are the big winner on this one. I do now see the place where a USB might have been, so I believe my unit did not come with the ports described. Thank you all for your help. Oh - we went ahead and got a spare tire to have on board. We hope to NEVER need to change it ourselves but don't want to be caught without one.

Did you down load the manual? The USB should be on the back of the unit.

There's not a cable that came with your unit that you haven't identified yet is there? Just guessing but that could be a cable slot. I've never seen one of those before.

All the documentation says the USB is on the REAR.
