Jensen AWM 965

I've been through 2 of these on warranty so far. The DVD mechanism is faulty and just kick the DVD out. On both the original and the factory replacement.

It is worth trying again or just toss the friggin thing. Anyone else have this and have problems?

JENSEN AM/FM/CD/DVD/MP3/USB Wallmount Stereo

In search of a stereo that has it all? Check out the JENSEN AWM965 that has all of the features you are looking for all in one wallmount unit. The AWM965 features the standard AM/FM electronic tuner (US/Euro), but also has a CD and DVD player giving you a variety of options in this single stereo. The unit also has a front USB allowing for playback of MP3/WMA files from compatible flash drives. This will give you the ability to travel with your portable music library and listen to all of your tunes while on the road. In addition, this stereo is built with the rugged durability to handle the challenges of life on the road.

In the attached troubleshooting guide a screw must be removed from the rear or the CD will eject. Hope that solved your ejection problem.
See attached guide.

main problem is that the only other well-known RV entertainment system maker is Concertone, which has a worse rep than Jensen.

seems like the Concertones made over the past 3-4 years have had less complaints but most owners of bad Concertones, replaced them with Jensens.

RV entertainment systems appear to lack a lot of quality control.

Transport screw makes sense, if FR didn't know to remove it. I will check it out and report back

There is no reference to the location of this"transport screw" in the manual and I don't see any such screw on the unit. I wonder where it is?

Eureka

Well, there is a transport screw, which is very small and in the TOP of the DVD housing in the back of the AWM965.

It is not documented anywhere in the information that comes with the unit, but only referred to in the troubleshooting guide on the ASA (parent company) website.

Thanks to IGGY for the tip, which could not be found anywhere. Obviously FR nor my dealer knew about this little screw either.

It's probably more like the employee who was installing the unit on your V-Cross that particular day didn't know about the screw.

The dealership not knowing about the screw doesn't surprise me at all. Way too many dealerships have employees that are clueless about many of the features and functions of various RVs.

I am still cussing up a storm over this. The losers who wrote this manual, (which they don't bother to send, you have to download) should have their faces used to sand smooth the parking lot where they should be working. How effing hard is it to tell tHE customer WHERE THE SCREW IS if you know its a problem such that you put removing it in the TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE?????

Sean, since this thread you resurrected is almost 6 years old and I think the AWM 965 has been out of production for a while, there may not be any responses to your post about this.
